Blinded by ego
We are all familiar with the word "ego". If someone is ahead of anyone in anything in life we feel jealous. For example, someone becomes first in the class, Maybe another one gets more success in business or job. If there is even the slightest hint of violence in one's mind, it is generally assumed that one has an "ego problem." It's not the real ego. it's called jealousy.

    What does ego mean?

There are many conventional definitions of ego, but according to Ryan Holiday, the ego is “an unusual belief in one's own greatness. It is accompanied by arrogance and self-centered and selfish ambitions.”
According to the writer, we all know ego is a bad thing, and it is present in all of us to some degree. And that is why it is our responsibility to control it. In a book, the author explains how the ego can make your life worse or better.

Unusual and unrealistic high self-esteem can completely stop a person's journey to success. The ego is like a little devil living among people that teaches a person to think of himself as much bigger than he really is.

You just have to be more discriminating with the help you concentrate on other people. But a confident person also knows what his current condition is. He knows very well how much more work he has to do to be as big as he wants to be.

    How does ego affect people?

The one who has an ego in him starts thinking big before he actually succeeds. This thought stopped him from moving forward on the path to true success. The reason is very simple if you have already thought that you have already done a lot of big things. That's when you feel you don't need to bother to do anything really big.

Ego plays a game with us. The ego-filled man sits with his false arrogance, and the others rise before him to become truly successful. Again, many people start to think of themselves as big after getting some success. They think they have nothing more to prove. Because of this, they stop moving forward and stopped working. But they do not realize that without this misconception they could have gone much further. Or even if he understands, he doesn't want to admit because of that destructive ego.

    Symptoms of an egoistic person

One of the main symptoms of a strong ego problem in a person is that they do not want to admit mistakes. Many times, they make mistakes but they do not want to admit it. They deny themselves as much as they deny others. And it is impossible to correct the mistake without admitting it. If a person with ego has a problem with English grammar, and if you tell him, he will be angry with you. For example, if they get low marks in the exams, they blame it on the teacher. But still, he will not try to increase his knowledge.

One more thing about people with ego is, they always pretend to be more knowledgeable than they are. If you think they just want to convince others that they know more, you are wrong. They actually believe in themselves that they are the most knowledgeable about everything. After a little bit of research on a subject, they think that they have actually learned a lot. And this belief takes them away from the process of acquiring knowledge before they know too much about that.

You can never argue with a person with an ego. Because they will never give up on an argument. Even if they understand that the man in front of them is more knowledgeable and experienced than they are, They will still not give up and will continue to argue.

The person who blinded by ego loves to blame the situation or the other people for their failure all the time. They never try to learn from their mistake even if they fail again and again. They never look at themselves to where they are wrong. It's because they are blinded by the ego. They think that there is nothing wrong with them and they cannot be wrong in any way.
